Thailand Trip - Evening at Patong Beach

The day after Kata Beach we decided to stay at Patong. We found a great tailor shop to tailor office wear (more about this coming up!) and enjoyed the sunset. Even though I can't take dairy (my stomach gets upset) I still had to get ice cream every single night :D Maybe it's a holiday thing... When you know you shouldn't, you want it even more ;)

The sunset was amazing  - colors changed every 10 minutes!

We decided to find Western food for a change and headed to a grill place for an early dinner. We were the only customers, I guess having dinner AND supper isn't the habit for many?! lol They offered a fresh salad buffet and decent main courses. We opted for salmon&burger! I always try to find seafood from the menu in Thailand but unfortunately many restaurants only have imported Norwegian salmon! It's so weird - they have all the fish right there to grab.

We took a tuk tuk back to the hotel. I really think that the tuk tuk trip summarizes Patong very well. Lots of neon bright light, gasoline smell, bars, short buildings, sunglasses, fake brands, tops, trip shops, food, shops after shops... ;)

Next post will bring you to Phi Phi Islands! :)

Thailand Trip - Kata Beach

On our first active day at Phuket, we took a shuttle bus from the hotel to Kata beach which is a bit nicer and less crowded beach very close to Patong. It was an extremely beautiful but hot day... The hotel restaurant had baked fresh bread for me (super super nice of them!!) and also fried some chicken so we were well prepared for a day at the beach!

I was covered in sunscreen, sand and sweat after the day so we took the outfit photos way before the beach :D

I liked the beach and the WAVES that were huge!! The only cons are that there were no toilets or showers!

Hubby went upside down inside one, I was a bit more careful lol... Like here running away from the wave! :D

After beach time we were hungry and got a very nice freshly made cheap meal from a local small food shop.

Ahhh... Miss the waves and the food but I must say, it was toooooo hot!! If I can say that coming from Singapore, trust me, Thailand during May is just insanely hot :D

Back at Home!

Hello lovelies!! I'm back at home from our short but relaxing holiday trip to Phuket :) We spent six days at Amari Hotel Phuket at Patong beach. I must say that Patong itself isn't the nicest area to relax but we were super lucky with the hotel choice - Amari is located at the end of the busy Patong beach area on a hill top far away from the gasoline and noise. The hotel was extremely accomodating about my food allergies and the service overall was very good!

Wanted to give you a sneak peak on the trip but much much more pics and stories are coming up! <3

Travel essentials in my new VS purses!

Singapore's Changi airport is by far the best airport I've ever been to - super clean, classy, all the amenities are there and they even have a small garden! Our flight was a bit scary with this huge thunder cloud that we flew through :O

After 1.5 hours flight (luxury compared to the 12h from Finland!!) we arrived at the hotel very hungry and decided to head to the hotel restaurant by the beach for buffet. The chef there was SUPER helpful and after hearing about my allergies he cooked me a fish and chicken, papaya salad and sides separately!!

And I ate it all. Alone. Can you believe it??! haha. Can't believe myself. All the shimps, all of the fish and half a chicken!! Omg. I was quite hungry.............. No, I'm not expecting twins ;p

In the morning we woke up to this amazing view from our balcony and went for the hotel brekkie (I looooove hotel breakfasts, they are the best thing on a trip!!)

Eggs, eggs and more eggs!! And all amazing fruits.... Ah. Heaven. Have you ever tried cereal with cottage cheese and yoghurt? It was quite yummy! :D
