Anniversary 3/3 - Brunch

The following morning we headed for a brunch at Marriott Hotel. The food was excellent :) I could have eaten 5 of those plates of smoked salmon but I settled for three to make room for other stuff ;) I highly recommend the place and would appreciate any tips on other great brunch places in Singapore!

There might be something exciting coming up related to the place where we spent the night but so far I'll keep it to myself ;)

Anniversary 2/3 - Dinner

For dinner we headed to Starz at Sentosa which was a slight disappointment. The food wasn't anything special and not very fresh either. This buffet really loses to all those I've been to so far. Nonetheless the personnel were cooperative about food allergies and afterwards we headed to Sentosa Cove for champagne by the shore. It was as if we were in a different country completely! So silent, low buildings, small restaurants and bistros along the beach. We also checked out W Hotel that has astonishing surroundings, but I would guess the place is more suited for young couples.

Let the pics speak for the night! ;)

Anniversary 1/3 - Morning

Last weekend we celebrated our second wedding anniversary. We headed to Sentosa on a one-night staycation far from all the traffic, and grabbed coffee at Starbucks on the way. The hotel was Amara Sanctuary, the location is very good and it's so far from town that it's silent and you can see the stars clearly at night. We had access to pool straight from our room which was really nice. The only thing was that a peacock kept screaming through the night :D

The theme this year is Paper, since second year is called paper anniversary. Hubby gave me flowers wrapped in paper and a paper book as a pressie haha.

I will post soon about our evenning plans! Sentosa is a great place to head for staycation I really recommend :)

Our Wedding

As I told you in the previous post, we are celebrating our anniversary this weekend. Our wedding day two years ago was a magical day. We got just a few drops of rain and then the sun started to shine. The place was more than amazing, food was to die for and after a glass of sparkling I was ready for the big day! My husband's family gave me a necklace that I will treasury forever, mainly because I felt it was so touching they wanted to give me something I've always dreamt of. Our loved ones gave us speeches, we laughed and cried and ate, drank and danced until midnight. My husband even had practised how to sing a Finnish song with our band! Here are some of the photos from our big day, hope you enjoy! <3

The next day we woke up to full sun shine and a great hotel brunch :) I will post later on about our anniversary celebration!

Mr & Mrs - About Marriage

We are celebrating our 2-year anniversary at the end of this month. It's then exactly three years since he proposed and two years since the happiest and most perfect day of my life so far, our Wedding day. My husband's proposal was simple and private, yet very meaningful and very beautiful. It happened at midnight on a warm summer night in Finland, in my childhood area, at sea shore. It was completely silent, you could just hear the wind in the willows, nothing else.

Our Wedding day took place on an island in Helsinki, in a beautiful old wooden restaurant with amazing surroundings. I still remember the once in a lifetime feeling of everyone I love being there on my special day. It's a feeling I can't describe. The food was absolutely perfect - the best Finnish food I've ever eaten, my friend sang us the most touching song ever and my husband's family gave us wonderful speaches and a very meaningful gift to me.

The second day after our wedding we read through all the wonderful cards and notes guests had written. It was such a dream.

Second anniversary is called "Paper Wedding". The first one is cotton, third leather and 60th diamond. This is for a reason - marriage gets stronger year by year. Paper is easily crumbled or even teared, diamonds last wear and tear. I couldn't agree more. Intercultural marriage is not an easy one. Throughout these two years we have gotten to know each other at our best - and at our very worst. I truly appreciate that I can be myself, 100% real, with my husband and he still loves me despite it all. I've always been honest with him, and he always wishes what's best for me. He has been there through fights, tears, days when I'm completely down or very sick. But he is there to share my laughter, my joy and my aspirations.

This is what I wish for everyone, to find someone not having to pretend with. Someone who accepts you for who you are as a person, not for external reasons and not only when you are nice or happy. Someone who cleans the toilet after you have vomited throughout the night when sick. That is unconditional love and it's worth waiting for.

Yet another wedding!! :D This time we celebrated my husband's long time best friends wedding at Clarke Quay Novotel Hotel. The theme was princessy and schedule&food traditional Chinese wedding style. Enjoy the photos!
